Rap Pioneer Phife Dawg Passes Away


         

A Tribe Called Quest member Phife Dawg has passed away at the age of 45.

The emcee, who real name is Malik Isaac Taylor, helped to form the trio in the late 80's with members DJ/Producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad and fellow Emcee Q-Tip.

It isn't a secret it has been a rough couple of years for Phife who has not only been battling health issues but battling internal conflicts within the group with fellow member Q-Tip.The trio rose to fame with hits like "Can I Kick It" and "Electric Relaxation." 

Despite the conflict, the group rejoined to rock the stage at Jimmy Fallon.
